Surrounding a picturesque 16th-century medieval village is Worstead Estate, a 2,000-acre countryside retreat in the heart of North Norfolk. Nestled on the edge of the estate is New Lane Cottage, a beautifully renovated, two-bedroom cottage, that provides the most relaxing staycation. 

Guests can enjoy cosying up in front of the wood burner on cold winter evenings or, come summer, relax on the sun-soaked patio, sipping on champagne and grilling the estate’s mouthwatering Wagyu steaks. The estate was the first Norfolk farm to rear and sell premium Wagyu, and guests can enjoy a variety of cuts delivered to their door during their stay.

Early risers will be treated to the sounds of wildlife and songbirds, and you can breathe in the fresh country air with a long walk through the 300-acre park. Here you will catch glimpses of The Woodyard, the estate’s former sawmill which has been converted into a beautiful wedding venue. 

One of the best ways to explore the estate is by horseback with the local equestrian centre, who offer hacks on the estate for all ages and abilities. There are plenty of footpaths and bridleways to enjoy, including Weavers Way which winds 61 miles through the North Norfolk countryside, and the Norfolk Coast offers a variety of beautiful beaches within 15 minutes’ drive.
